We are a participation strategy and innovation consultancy with a belief that, given the right opportunity, people can and will shape the things that matter to them for the better.
We go much further than designing “engagement” processes.
We use creative strategy, social psychology, behavioural theory and design thinking to create interventions that support organisations of all types to involve people in their work and impact.

Helping organisations to put participation at the heart of achieving their aims; identifying opportunities for impactful involvement and the practical steps needed to realise them.
CULTURE
Building the belief, confidence and capacity for working in more participatory ways. Running training and sustained learning programmes to build the participatory muscle of organisations inside and out.
DELIVERY
Kickstarting a move to greater involvement by designing and delivering participatory processes from Citizen Assemblies to public dialogues, online conversations to bespoke Co-creation workshops.
THE CITIZEN SHIFT
When we think of ourselves as citizens rather than consumers, we’re more likely to participate, volunteer and come together to make our society stronger.
That’s why our mission at New Citizen Project is to catalyse a shift to a more participatory, citizen-led society. We call it the #CitizenShift.
Since 2014, we’ve worked with all types of organisations to create participatory strategies, cultures and projects that invite people to step into their power as citizens.
